I have completed an Integrated M.Sc. in Life Sciences from Bharathidasan University, Trichy. I’m currently working as a Project Associate in Prof. Praveen Vemula’s lab, where my work focuses on development of an ECM-integrated nanofibrous cardiac patch for myocardial infarction.

Beyond research, I enjoy playing basketball and cricket, working out at the gym and long motorcycle rides.

Aravind Sankaranayanan

I am a Research Assistant in the lab, working on the development of Novel antidote for pesticide poisoning. I am a biologist with expertise in animal experimentation and a background in biomaterials-based research, with a focus on integrating chemical and biological approaches for therapeutic applications.

Hobbies: I enjoy playing cricket and football, Culinary arts, and working out in the gym.

Hadi Muhammad

I completed my BS-MS dual degree from the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Kolkata. In June 2023, I joined Praveen's lab as a Master's dissertation fellow. I love working at the interface of chemistry and biology. My research in the lab contributes to some cool multidisciplinary projects, including the development of surfactant based nucleic acid delivery vectors, antidotes for oral pesticide poisoning, and amphiphiles-based antibacterial agents.

Outside the lab, I enjoy sports and reading.

Sujanthi E

I got my graduation in Integrated M.Sc. Chemistry from Pondicherry University and I was a recipient of INSPIRE-SHE fellowship. Having experimented graphene based  hybrid  materials for my M.Sc dissertation  and synthesis of bridged oxazolidines during my summer interns. I am joint PhD student with Praveen's lab and Dr. Jayandharan Rao's lab from IIT-Kanpur.

Passionate about crafting and draw by copying, also an ardent lover of classical music and terrible at singing.

Tanu Jain

Hi - I joined Dr. Vemula research team during August 2016 as a research trainee. I have completed my Integrated Masters in Applied Chemistry (2011-2016) from NIT Surat. After my training period, I received DST-INSPIRE fellowship to pursue my PhD in this lab. I am here to learn as well as contribute to develop novel biomaterials to solve clinical needs. I'm currently working on development of nanoparticle systems for the sustained release of drug in Inflammatory Bowel Disease cases.
